Kmtc November 2015 updates!

KMTC Director Peter Tum closed a four-day orientation programme for Nairobi Campus’ 2015-2016 first-year students on November 3, 2015.
“Consider yourselves privileged to be at KMTC,” said the Director as he congratulated the students on their selection to the coveted institution. “Our trainees are the most marketable in the country,” he added.
He reassured those selected by Kenya Universities and Colleges Placement Service that the Board has embarked on a process to accommodate them. As part of the process, the Board had opened nine more campuses to expand capacity for training, he said.
A huge gap exists in the public health sector and the skills acquired from the premier college are a milestone towards closing that gap, he added.
The programme, which is carried out in all the campuses, aims at introducing new students to KMTC way of life. The program also presents an opportunity for the students to interact with the lecturers.
Topics covered include adherence to rules and regulations, communication, scholarships, time management, organizational structure, stress management and drugs and substance abuse.
Nairobi MTC Principal Mr. Richard Kolute urged the students to make use of opportunities in the institution and manage time well.
The new students termed the orientation sessions an eye-opener. The sessions helped them gain a better insight into what their courses entailed, they said.
The program is organized by the Dean’s office.
